The Philippine Consulate General in Jeddah provides various passport services to Filipino citizens residing in the Western Region of Saudi Arabia. These services include:

  • New Philippine ePassport Application - For first-time applicants or those whose passports were lost, stolen, or damaged
  • Passport Renewal - For those with expiring or expired passports
  • Amendment of Passport Details - For correction of entries in the passport
  • Extension of Passport Validity - For emergency cases where immediate travel is necessary and passport cannot be renewed in time

The Philippine ePassport is a machine-readable passport with an integrated circuit (chip) that contains the biometric information of the passport holder, providing greater security features and global interoperability.

Appointment System

All passport applications require an appointment

To minimize waiting time and ensure efficient service, all passport applicants must secure an appointment through our online appointment system before visiting the Consulate.

Register an account on the DFA Passport Appointment System website.

Book an Appointment

Select "Philippine Consulate General in Jeddah" as your site and choose your preferred date and time.

Pay the Fees

Pay the passport processing fee as indicated in the appointment system.

Visit the Consulate

Come to the Consulate on your scheduled appointment with all required documents.

Note: Please arrive at least 15 minutes before your scheduled appointment. Late arrivals may need to reschedule.

Passport Requirements

Documents needed for passport application

New Passport Application

For first-time passport applicants or those applying for a new passport after previous passport was lost, stolen, or damaged:

  • Personal appearance of the applicant
  • Accomplished application form
  • Original Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) birth certificate on security paper
  • Original and photocopy of valid Saudi residency permit (Iqama)
  • Original and photocopy of valid government-issued ID (e.g., UMID, Driver's License, SSS ID, etc.)
  • For married women wishing to use their husband's surname:
    • Original PSA marriage certificate on security paper
    • Original and photocopy of husband's valid ID
  • Passport fee: SAR 240

Passport Renewal

For applicants renewing their existing Philippine passport:

  • Personal appearance of the applicant
  • Accomplished application form
  • Original current/expired passport
  • Photocopy of passport data page
  • Original and photocopy of valid Saudi residency permit (Iqama)
  • If there are changes in the passport information:
    • Supporting documents for the change (e.g., marriage certificate, court order, etc.)
  • Passport fee: SAR 240

Lost, Stolen, or Damaged Passport

For applicants whose passport was lost, stolen, or damaged:

  • Personal appearance of the applicant
  • Accomplished application form
  • Original PSA birth certificate on security paper
  • Original PSA marriage certificate (for married women)
  • Original and photocopy of valid Saudi residency permit (Iqama)
  • Police report of the lost/stolen passport
  • Affidavit of Loss executed at the Consulate
  • Original and photocopy of any valid government-issued ID
  • Passport fee: SAR 480 (includes penalty for lost passport)

Note: There is a 15-day clearing period for lost/stolen passports before a new passport can be issued. In case of emergency travel needs, a Travel Document may be issued.

Minors (Below 18 years old)

For passport applications of minors:

  • Personal appearance of the minor applicant
  • Personal appearance of either parent or authorized adult companion
  • Accomplished application form signed by either parent or legal guardian
  • Original PSA birth certificate of the minor on security paper
  • Original and photocopy of valid Saudi residency permit (Iqama) of the minor
  • Original and photocopy of parent's valid passport and valid ID
  • If accompanied by an adult other than the parent:
    • Special Power of Attorney executed by the parent
    • Original and photocopy of the adult companion's valid ID
  • For illegitimate minors being applied for by the mother:
    • Affidavit of Support and Consent
  • Passport fee: SAR 240

Processing Time and Claiming

The processing time for passport applications is typically 6-8 weeks. Once your passport is ready, you will be notified via email or SMS.

Claiming Options

  • Personal Pickup: The applicant must personally claim the passport and surrender the old passport (for renewals).
  • Authorized Representative: An authorized representative may claim the passport with an authorization letter, valid ID, and a photocopy of the applicant's ID.
  • Courier Service: Passport delivery via courier is available for an additional fee. Details will be provided during application.

Can I renew my passport if it's already expired?

Yes, you can renew your passport even if it has already expired. You will need to bring your expired passport and follow the renewal requirements. There is no penalty for renewing an expired passport.

How early can I renew my passport before it expires?

You can renew your passport as early as one year before its expiration date. Many countries require that your passport be valid for at least six months beyond your travel dates, so it's advisable to renew early.

Can someone else apply for a passport on my behalf?

No, personal appearance is required for all passport applications. This is necessary for biometric data capture (photo, fingerprints, and signature).

What if my name in my birth certificate is different from my current passport?

You will need to submit additional documentation to support the name difference, such as a court order for legal name change, annotated birth certificate, or other legal documents confirming the name change.

Can I travel while my passport is being renewed?

No, your current passport will be canceled when you apply for renewal. In emergency cases requiring immediate travel, you may apply for a Travel Document, which is valid for one-way travel to the Philippines.
